Youth Who Vape: Fact or Fiction?

The increase in use of e-cigarettes in the United States has been particularly dramatic among youth, with many brands specifically targeting young adults. Companies, like JUUL, blu, and NJOY use highly influential, youth-friendly marketing channels like social media to promote their e-cigarettes as a healthier alternative to traditional combustible cigarettes (cigarettes), as tastier than cigarettes with exotic flavors, and as a device that allows youth the freedom to smoke any time, anywhere.

How can a tween, teen, or 20-something looking for inclusion, status, or the next cool thing resist? Given that vaping among high school students in grades 9-12 increased approximately 1286% between 2011 and 2018,2 it appears they are willing to give vaping a try.
