C. Side-branching intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm

There are several categories of cystic lesions in the pancreas. Of the options here, mucinous cystic neoplasm is a premalignant condition often found in women. The cystic fluid has a high CEA level, which helps differentiate this lesion from non-mucinous neoplasms. Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) can be categorized into main duct versus side branching. The latter is more indolent and often can be followed with serial imaging. In contrast, main duct IPMN may require surgical intervention.
