What do you need to know about complementary and alternative therapies your patients may be taking? How will health care reform impact your practice? Keynote speaker is James Orbinski, MD, a humanitarian activist and associate professor at the University of Toronto, who will address equity and global health. Dr Orbinski was the international president of Mdecins Sans Frontires/Doctors Without Borders from 1998 to 2001. In 1999, he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the organization for its pioneering approach to medical humanitarianism.

Among the other topics covered will be controversies in cancer screening, HIV screening in the primary care setting, new developments in the treatment of common types of migraine and tension headaches, volunteerism in response to medical disasters, and spirituality in end-of-life care.
