The Best States for Health Care in the US: 2023

Annual health care costs in the US run the average American approximately $12 900, according to data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. In a post-pandemic economy where inflation continues to creep up, getting affordable, high quality care is often a challenge.

The high cost of care in the US doesn't always translate into more favorable outcomes, either.

Frontline clinicians may be interested in findings from a recent WalletHub study that investitaged in which states Americans are more likely to get the best health care. The study compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 40 measures of cost, access, and outcomes. Considered were factors including hospital beds and physicians per capita, percentage of aduclts with insurance, infant mortality rate, and much more.
