1. Fever and malaise are the first signs of measles.2. Coryza, conjunctivitis, and cough usually develop within 24 hours of the onset of fever.
3. Koplik spots appear first on the buccal mucosal about a day after the coryza and cough and 2 days after the onset of fever. These are pathognomonic of measles.(Images courtesy CDC)
