The mother of a 7-year-old boy with cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome sought treatment for the cutaneous aspects of her son's disease. Dry skin and keratosis pilaris of the upper outer arms were noted.

During a camping trip, a 7-year-old boy sustained a 1.5-cm laceration down to the bone above the left eyebrow. The laceration was clean and linear; it bled freely. The patient did not lose consciousness.

Dry skin and keratosis pilaris of the upper outer arms were noted. Cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome- a rare autosomal dominant genetic disorder-had been diagnosed when the child was 3 years old.

One week after redness and swelling arose on the left second finger, a 33-year-old man sought medical evaluation. He reported some tenderness and difficulty in flexing the digit but could not recall injuring the finger. The medical history included treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and acne.
