Henry Mahncke, PhD, explains why lifestyle interventions, such as diet and exercise, could be prescribed down the line to improve brain health.
"What do we do for physical health? Well, we recommend ordinary lifestyle interventions," said research neuroscientist Henry Mahncke, PhD, in a recent interview with Patient Care® Online. "We don't usually prescribe a drug for physical health for the most part, unless it's a very specific clinical condition. I think we're going to start to see brain health in the same way."
In the video below, Dr Mahncke discusses where he sees the future of brain health headed and why clinicians may look at a monopoly of lifestyle and behavioral interventions for patients who want to improve and maintain their brain health.
Henry Mahncke, PhD, is the CEO of Posit Science in San Francisco, California. Dr Mahncke has been the principal investigator on several government grants and has been involved in numerous research studies on the impact of cognitive training on older adults.
